The Challenge
The Connected Nottingham campaign to support ICT investment in the Nottingham area required a website that would allow them to keep visitors up to date with all the latest news and organised events that are taking place throughout the country. Another requirement was to allow visitors to let Connected Nottingham now if they were organising an event or have relevant news to add to the site.
The Approach
The Connected Nottingham website makes use of the River CMS and utilises the News module and its category feature to allow for multiple news pages within the website that only show relevant news stories. The user upload module is used to allow visitors to the site to upload information on related news and events and then Connected Nottingham can decide if the information is of use to the site and will make it into the news or events sections.
The Results
The result is a slick looking website with plenty of information for visitors to consume. The navigation structure allows visitors to get around the site with ease so they can find the information they are looking for, second level navigation allows for sub pages from the main navigation allowing sections of the site to grow where required.

Connected Nottingham is a brand initiative developed by Accelerate Nottingham and its partners to encapsulate a forward-thinking city driven by the shared aim of connecting business, education and the community through cutting edge ICT technology. In short, Connected Nottingham is the city’s overarching campaign to support past, present and future ICT investment in Greater Nottingham.
