The Challenge
The main challenge of the Media Circle website was to create a Flash animated menu system that could be integrated into the River CMS whilst still keeping the main global navigation on the site as well. The site also required unique page loading that showed the page sliding from one to the next. With Media Circle being a membership organisation it also required a content management system that would allow this facility.
The Approach
Two flash navigation wheels were created to complement the global navigation system, one large wheel for the home page and a smaller wheel for standard content pages. To create the sliding page effect, the content of each page was added to its own panel that related to links in both the flash and global navigation. All this was accommodated by the flexibility of the River CMS.
The Results
The finished site is very unique with the home page using a large animated flash wheel that links you into the main site, once you are in the site each page arrives by sliding in from the appropriate side based on its position in the navigation structure. This is a really smooth effect and gives the Media Circle site a very unique feel when navigating through its pages.
Thanks to River CMS the site also has all the membership facilities that it needs, allow Media Circle to keep their member list up to date and in order.
