The Challenge
TP Toys required a website that would deliver a fully featured e-commerce catalogue to showcase their entire product range, whilst also being easy to navigate. Each product needed to be displayed with a large range of images and a detailed description with specification and FAQ. However, this needed to be presented in a quick loading and easily digested format. The site also needed to be fully search engine optimised in order to gain high search engine rankings and increased visitor numbers.
The Approach
The TP Toys home page is very unique because it features a large amount of imagery and includes a JQuery carousel, JavaScript image fades and a JavaScript ticker that offers extra navigation options to the e-commerce catalogue and complements the global navigation. Once visitors are past the home page second and third level navigation are implemented in the layout of the page.
SEO techniques were used to increase traffic to the site, building on search engine optimisation that was used on the previous site and adding new techniques that helped to boost search engine rankings.
The Results
The TP Toys website takes advantage of River CMS content management system with product catalogue and e-commerce capabilities, well structured navigation and a mass of quick loading optimised images. The tools that River CMS contains allow TP Toys to update their site and product ranges with ease. All pages have a simple, yet effective, layout that is user friendly and informative to potential customers.
The TP Toys website is also Search Engine Optimised and performs really well in search engines such as Google, Bing and Yahoo thanks to the SEO options available in the River CMS.
