The Challenge
The International Foreign Exchange required a pixel perfect
representation of their design, with exact layout and a 'non-system'
font. This presented several challenges that needed to be overcome and a
number of bespoke developments to a number of the River CMS modules including a PDF generated application generator and integration with a live market data feed.
The Approach
The IFX website uses River CMS and uses many of the system
features.
IFX's corporate guidelines required the use of a font that isn’t widely supported, therefore the build team decided to use
images for all navigation throughout the site with images for
the sectional navigation headers. It was important to the client that
the site still achieved great ranking within search engines so the
navigation was constructed using CSS to link the navigation images to
dynamically created links. In this way search engines were able to see
all the navigation links within the site together with the navigation
text.
The Results
The final result is an very slick looking site, with a dynamic
news callout that rotates through all the latest news stories, a very
unique font that appears all over the website and a JavaScript dock
global navigation menu that animates as the cursor hovers over it.
