The Challenge
Shared Service Architects (SSA) is an ambitious teaching company serving public sector organisations. It equips their senior staff with the skills and knowledge needed to design, implement and maintain successful shared service partnerships.
The objective
of the new website was to facilitate the rapid growth that SSA has experienced
over the last 2-3 years. Now that it is a thriving small business, it requires
the technology infrastructure to match the ambitions of the company.
They
wanted a modernised website that would promote and raise awareness of their
service to their target audience; local authorities, police, fire and rescue,
universities and other public sector organisations. The new site also needed to
provide functionality in areas that their predecessor site was lacking.
The Approach
The first
step was to consult with decision-making members of the SSA team to discuss key
requirements of the new site. We explored areas such as target markets, desired
features and user requirements.
With a
solid understanding of what the new site needed to deliver, this enabled us to
make an informed decision on the best course of action.
Our
advanced content management system, River CMS, was selected as most suitable in
order to facilitate the needs outlined in ‘The Challenge’. It was used to
deliver the e-commerce and membership website components.
Features
such as password-protected content, internal site search and the news module
were utilised.
Another key requirement outlined from the consultation was the need for a CRM system to manage events, allowing visitors to search and book place on the courses and allowing administrators to send out email campaigns using pre-configured templates. Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online was selected as most suitable for this and was set up and structured by Senior.
The Result
The new
website successfully promotes SSA as the ‘must visit’ intellectual authority
and national resource portal for information related to shared services in the
public sector.
A clean,
strong and consistent design acts as a powerful reinforcement of SSA’s branding
to its target audience. This aesthetically pleasing design coupled with clear
and easy navigation offers the visitors of the SSA site a seamless user
experience.
It offers
high levels of functionality for both its users and administrators, which
facilitates its current size as well as accommodating any further growth.
