The Challenge
The major challenge of this project was to redesign a very busy site
where the content had considerably outgrown the structure, making
navigation both difficult and inefficient.
The site also had to offer
value-added services, online, to a subscription membership audience of
large blue-chip corporate businesses.
The Approach
The existing site was showing its age and this was restricting its
usage and impact in the marketplace. The brief, therefore, was to
redevelop in a way that drives people to the site and encourages
visitors to return on a regular basis.
Given our prior experience working with NFP membership
organisations, we were able to offer insightful advice on the best ways
to attract and retain members using impressive, useful and resourceful
online channels. As a complete solution provider, we were able to bring’ more than just technical skills to this project and this set us apart during the highly competitive tender process. The solution was to use
our in-house developed content publishing engine along with our membership management system called MemberBase CRM.
Our solution was developed specifically for membership
organisations and it brings together a wide range of functionality for
interacting with the general public and with a membership audience.
Features include full content and versioning control, event management,
job boards, directories, forums, polls, password protected member only areas and content, e-commerce, e-marketing, tag clouds for navigation assistance
and personalisation of content with user profiling.
MemberBase CRM was used to provide superb membership management functionality
including: creating member records, logging interactions, creating groups,
renewing membership subscriptions and lots more. We integrated the
website with certain areas of the CRM system to maximise efficiency.
The Result
The website was presented to the AGR Board prior to going live
and received unanimous praise. The site has received increased uptake of
events since launch, due mainly to increased web traffic and more users
revisiting the site.
The site benefits from the inclusion of dynamic
page flakes that are user selected to result in personalised member homepages.
