Thornton is a very successful, leading UK manufacturer for education and
research laboratories. The company’s principle activities are the design,
manufacture and installation of furniture and associated equipment for schools,
colleges, universities and industrial research laboratories.
The
website’s primary objective is to increase sales opportunities through
enhancing brand recognition and sharpening appeal. British Thornton want to
differentiate themselves from their competitors by showcasing the high quality
of their products and their modern design capabilities.
A key
requirement is the need for high search engine visibility to their defined
target of the market; direct buyers such as local authorities and educational
institutions as well as partners such as building contractors.
A second requirement of the project demanded an
e-commerce element to the website. British Thornton needed an extensive yet easy-to-use product catalogue
for its users.
